Malta strengthens its position as iGaming Hub
Record-breaking figures in 2024 and rebranded SIGMA EURO-MED to move to Malta from 2025
The 2024 edition of SIGMA Europe in Malta, having started yesterday, 11 November, is going to be the meeting point of around 27,000 delegates, over 200 exhibitors and some 550 speakers at the Mediterranean Maritime Hub (MMH). These numbers highlight the increasing importance of the event for the iGaming industry.
SIGMA, being the leading iGaming congress and exhibition, has further announced that SIGMA East Europe is being rebranded to SIGMA Euro-Med, moving from Budapest, Hungary to Malta from 2025, and taking place earlier in the year, from September 1-4.
Since at the beginning of September all schools in Malta are still on summer holidays, less traffic issues are expected and also more favourable weather conditions, allowing the event to become a combined indoor-outdoor festival, the first in the iGaming industry.
Last year’s event, as well as the currently running 2024 edition, have led to and are causing substantial traffic congestion, being a considerable inconvenience to attendees and also the local population.
Creating a festival vibe from 2025
Moving the date to earlier in the year responds to customer feedback in terms of flight availability, connectivity, and logistics, along with the delivery of SiGMA’s ‘Festival’ vision for the event. September’s warmer and less temperamental climate will allow the event to showcase a mix of traditional internal and showcase external quality displays, intended to create a festival vibe on the island and also offering improved and additional exhibition and conference space.
CEO of Gaming Malta, Ivan Filletti commented: The evolution of SiGMA 2025 sits in tandem with Malta’s ‘quality agenda’, focusing on the island’s world leading gaming ecosystem skills and underpinning Malta’s ‘Home of Gaming Excellence’ credentials
SiGMA has been operating in Malta since its inception in 2014 and has grown into a multi-national events and media company whilst maintaining a significant part of its operations in Malta.
The team of Kresse International will be present at the current SIGMA 2024 event to meet clients and make sure that the firm is at the forefront of new developments in the iGaming and affiliate sector.
